The Lost Island – A Poem

A hundred thousand crystal-like sun rays shine on the waves
Golden beams of sunlight gently pierce as the waters misbehave
Arresting deep navy blue water takes me sailing far far away
Gust of wind sways my boat and pushes it closer to an obscured cay
The water of this reservoir so clear and tree leaves have turquoise hue
This scene so surreal, and I have no human being to turn to
I wait for the morning to unveil the passage disguised by darkness and jungle fern
Cicadas sing in its highest notes while I collect some dried branches to burn
The sun shines again, I sail on my boat in hope to keep it afloat forever and hope to return.
